Life in the meadow
2024 has been a tough summer for insects. And if you look at the data, it’s been a tough 100 last years too. It’s estimated that we’ve lost between 90 to 95 % of our insect population over that time. That’s due to a mix of causes, including habitat loss, intensified agriculture (including use of pesticides) and climate change.
The opportunity to manage a wildflower meadow becomes then even more important as it gives space and life to so many different species. Below are some summer pictures of life in the cemetery meadow. Many thanks to Bob Knight for these beautiful photos.
